For its second participation in the Photo Shanghai, Galerie DUMONTEIL brings a more diverse presentation of works from 4 established European photographers, who provide us with different perspectives on our world and society.

Eric Pillot is the winner of the Photography HSBC Prize in 2012 and the Marc Ladreit de Lacharrière Photography Prize in 2014. The gallery presents his latest black-and-white series Horizons, as well as the previous animal series In Situ in Photo Shanghai 2015.

The photographs by Jean Daniel Lorieux and Willy Rizzo, two influential European photographers, portray some of the most important figures in history. Jean Daniel Lorieux, a pioneer in Fashion photography, who worked with Vogue Magazine for 20 years and is known for his most successful campaigns for Dior, Lanvin, Rabanne, Ricci, Céline and Cardin. The renowned Italian photographer Willy Rizzo, who has captured some of the most iconic figures: Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Brigitte Bardot, Marlène Dietrich, etc.

The works of Christine Barbe have been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art of Grenoble, Espace Ricard, Modern Museum of Art in Japan, the San José Museum of Contemporary Art and in numerous private galleries. In the series The Displaced, all the photographs capture the animals in stilled poses in an unfamiliar universe.
