Anima Animalis II

24 January - 29 February 2020
38 rue de l’Université - 75007 Paris
Galerie Dumonteil is pleased to present from January 24th to February 29th a selection of artworks, sculptures, drawings and paintings from artists who dedicated their work to a very personal and sensitive representation of animals. As a fundamental and recurrent theme in art history, the animal is a source of inspiration that has been experienced many times by the artists through ages. However, it is not before the beginning of the 20th century that they describe it free from representations and interpretations of its aesthetic and feelings. Thanks to their talent, the artists try to express the soul and the part of humanity in every animal.

ANIMA {Soul} : beath, life. Spiritual and vital principle, immanent or transcendent, that brings to life the body of every living being.

ANIMALS {Animal} moving, living. Living being organised, sensitive and lively.
